How to Choose a Hair Transplant Clinic: 7 Questions to Ask
Glossy before-and-after photos are easy to publish. These seven questions separate clinics that plan carefully from clinics that sell aggressively.
Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure performed once, with results you will live with for decades. Choosing where to have it done deserves more scrutiny than choosing a hotel. These are the questions we encourage every prospective patient to ask — including of us.
The seven questions
- Who designs my hairline, and can I see examples of that surgeon's actual work?
- How many grafts can my donor area support — and will you tell me if the answer is fewer than I hoped?
- Which technique do you recommend for my case, and why — not which one is most expensive?
- What is included in the price? Medication, aftercare products, follow-up visits?
- What happens if I need adjustments later, and what do they cost?
- How do you handle complications, and who do I contact after hours?
- Can I speak with previous patients who had a similar pattern of loss?
Red flags worth walking away from
Be cautious of clinics that quote a fixed graft number without examining your scalp, promise density results that exceed what a donor area can physically support, or pressure you to book on the spot with a discount that expires tomorrow. Hair restoration is not urgent; it is permanent.
Also beware of pricing that seems too good to be true. Graft survival depends on the skill and time invested in each one — a clinic cramming thousands of grafts into a shortened procedure is cutting the very corners your result depends on.
Transparency is the tell
A clinic confident in its work publishes its pricing, explains its inclusions, and will happily tell you when you are not yet a good candidate. At Bonita Hair Clinic, our all-inclusive package covers the medications, aftercare kit, a post-operative PRP session and yearly follow-up — because we plan to know you for years, not just for the day of surgery.
